Message: The Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival (26-29 Nov 2008) will feature the Conference on Asian Cinema Heritage and Culture. One of the events is Film Appreciation Workshop: Malay Film Classic - 'Pendekar Bujang Lapok' (The Raggedy Bachelor Warriors) by P Ramlee. Conducted by Hassan Abd Muthalib. An eye-opening session to discover and appreciate the classic of Malaysian cinema. The comic acting genius of Malaysian screen legend P Ramlee will be brought to life in this session, which will also highlight the role of cinema in constructing the Malaysian film identity, and in reflecting the social and political forces that have shaped Malaysia as a nation. There will be screening of 'Pendekar Bujang Lapok' (1959) before the workshop. Venue: Seri Pacific Hotel (formerly Pan Pacific Hotel), Kuala Lumpur. Date: 28 Nov 2008 (3:00-5:15pm).
